Special IPMC Model
Matt Bergstrom of Wurlington Press has once again produced a special commemorative model for the IPMC. This year's theme is commercial watercraft, and the model is a fine looking C&O Canal boat. (As usual, the guy at the helm looks suspiciously familiar.) It's available for download at www.ipmc-info.org. We look forward to seeing a fleet of these at the convention. Thanks, Matt!

I'll be there for sure this time, the past two years were thwarted but this year I have it scheduled in and really plan to get there. This year's theme is perfect, of course, and I hope to bring Athenia perhaps with another new project. Can't wait!

I will be making an appearance too, I am definitely looking forward to getting back to Udvar Hazy, its been a while since I was there last

Speaking of Udvar-Hazy, I'd be down for any group visit/tour of the museum. The shuttle Discovery is on display and I'd really like to see her, as well as get some photos for a couple of projects that have been stalled.

Looks like we will have a lot of friends gathering in Sterling this year. I hope to have one or more of Avery's models with me.

Incidentally, the canal boat model is loosely based on these plans recreating a packet boat on the C&O Canal:
FTHGFT C&O Canal Boat Fund The original boats were made in a variety of sizes and styles, so the model is sort of an "average" boat. It doesn't say so on the page, but its a 1:100 scale model.
