SBD Dauntless

Living History Day October 6th 2018.
Chino Airport, California, Planes of Fame Air Museum’s Douglas SBD Dauntless was on display.
Speakers: WWII SBD Gunner Sid Zimman and Author Mark Carlson brought us back in time to WWII when the SBD served to help sink the four enemy carriers at the Battle of Midway.
We learned the english meanings of Akagi, Kaga,Hiryu and Soryu.
At noon the SBD made several demonstration flights overhead for camera buffs.
A walk through the museum’s hangars always provides more to see such as
a highly polished, clean, P-51 Mustang belonging to Tom Cruise was being serviced in the maintenance hangar.
