Wonderful thread you started here.
I showed a quote from your first post. It would be fun to contribute to this, but where I live, there is nothing like this.
In gardens in the town where I live, people grow tomatoes, squash and beans. There are no castles.
Perhaps this kind of castle-garden work is unique to Styria? Or do they build these in other parts of Europe?

In any case, the photos are excellent, and I hope you find more to show us.

Wow, some really cool garden castles!

Like Don mentioned not much like that where I live. Plywood cutouts of moose, bears, caribou.

Local chainsaw carver has plenty of Alaskan Wildlife for sale.

A couple of full size welded-metal brown bears, in town.

Never thought to take photos before, will take some now to add to your thread.

My yard? Have a 15ft [4.5m] gravel pad around a fire ring.








In use mostly in the winter. When snow gets to about a meter deep, use a shovel and carve chairs and benches into the snow after clearing around the ring.

The gravel provides good footing when the snow melts, each of snow chairs has a foam pad (garage floor interlocking foot relief foam) for sitting and a beer holder. After the chairs are carved, use a spray bottle and water to coat the chairs so they freeze hard the day before a winter party.

First weekend in March is my Alaskan Beach Attire party. Must wear swimming suits on the outside of whatever insulated clothing you choose underneath....

That's very nice, I always thought about models for the garden, what will happen if the rain comes?
Some of my models got wet and then they came apart.
Any comments?

I'll have to dig out the pictures if I have any, just to say that there is a garden railway with an impressive model station building near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire.
