International Paper Modelers' Convention 2023

I wanted to let everyone know that we're locked in for the next IPMC on 27-28 October 2023. The location and format will be basically the same as the 2022 convention. The display area rental prices will increase slightly, but I'm hoping that we can keep the registration cost the same as it was in 2022. Also, the hotel will be including a couple of "shoulder" reservations in the room block, so that you'll be able to reserve a room for Thursday and/or Sunday at the conference rate (this was an issue in 2022).

More to follow, but mark your calendars in the meantime!

CSF&G,

Peter A.

I even remember what I was planning on building. And no, it wasn't going to be an astronaut.

Does anyone know the rules for Murph's Sow's Ear award? Do you have to build the pre-CAD model using the original paper or can you scan it?

Do you mean my Sow's Ear award?

If so, as long as I know the original source for the model, I don't care if it's a scanned copy or not.

I already have a front runner for next year's award, assuming the builder gets it done, but it's still early and upsets can always happen.

So build away. I know you can build something to vy for the title this year.

Greg

Do we have any more information on this year's convention. Tis is the time of year I like to start planning for it (time off requests, see if I'll be able to afford it, shop around for plane tickets, etc)

I just uploaded the IPMC 2023 registration form and tentative schedule to the downloads section, and they'll be available as soon as the mods review them. If you've attended a previous convention, you should have received an email from me this morning with the forms and some additional notes. The convention will follow the same basic schedule as last year.

The special award category for this year is The Letter "A", which includes anything with a name, designation, or other referent that starts with "A". (I'm guessing that the Awards Committee will not include "aircraft" or "airplane", for obvious reasons!).

Shoot me an IM or email if you have any questions, and see y'all in October!

Thanks Peter. I expect to be there. Have to get moving on my 'A' contest entry. I won't be entering Greg's Sow's Ear contest though, as that kit got pushed down the pile. Maybe next year.

unfortunately, there is nothing there to download. At least when I just tried it multiple time on the two posting there under the same heading for the 2023 event.

I guess the Mods are still in the process of reviewing it.

I approved the upload yesterday, however, I neglected to verify there was an attachment, of which there is not.
