I'll try and get some reference material, but he is a bit close-mouthed about the project. The LCS-3 is a copy of the LCS-1 USS Freedom. The LCS1 and LCS2 are to compete to decide which hull type would win out for the full LCS contract of some 50 ships. However, the Navy was afraid that they would lose all the talent and experience that the builders gained and decided to build two more ships to keep the folks working until a final decision was made.

Quick update: My brother regretfully cannot provide any data due to sensitivity, but said that there are brand new pix on Austal - Leading the World in the Design and Construction of Customised Aluminium Commercial and Defence Vessels
This has shots from the latest builders trials. The posters and brochure are pretty informative.

Put me done as the first customer to order this beauty. Will you be going to the Paper Modelers convention in Virginia this year? It would be a great venue to display it.

i didnt know anything about the convention. where can i find info on it?

done with the mesh. wont know how much detail will remain when it goes to paper.i hope to texture and testbuild sometime next week.
