Another Oddball-o-Rama D558
Since Avro202 has already provided a very clean build for this model I thought I would go the artistic route. Here is a teaser "in-flight photo" and the model as originally shot without a background. Off we go into the......
I will post more photos as I get through playing with them on Paint.Net Curt |

Given the lack of response to my initial post and the fact that I've been building concept boat models for the past week or so, I think I'll just go ahead and post the photos shot against a white or mostly white background. So here they are.

I'm sorry. I thought it was very well done, but I was really just glancing at the forum Wednesday as it was another long day at work.
I like it on the backdrop, though I know others like a blank background so that the model takes center stage. Is that a straw in the exhaust? |

No need to be sorry dude. The support stick is bamboo covered with paper to help blend in with the background. Speaking of white I still plan on doing the white version of the D-558 if no one objects.

Doh! I must have missed this when it first popped up.
Very nice D-558. I love the "in flight" photo! Tell me; how did you get the nice glossy look to it? |

Thanks for the kind comments guys! The glossy finish is due to multiple coats of krylon clear acrylic.
