Your wheels look nice, Jim. Do you have a pic of the track? I like this piece and with your skills will be a pretty model.

This is what the kit track parts look like. I'll post a picture of where I'm going with it as soon as I can. Thought I could do some work tonight but life is interfering.

Right on both counts, you are a mindreader. Thanks for the track pick! Hope you have time to build 'er Douglas!

Here is a picture of some of the track options I have rejected.

The single pic is the one I am going with. It has pads on the outside and grouser bars on the inside. It is consistent with the kit design, easily repeated, does not exceed my skill level, and can be completed in my lifetime.

A little bit of paint and they should look pretty good.

Frankly, they all look good to me, Douglas, but I agree with your final choice.

I second Don's observation. I'd be thrilled if I could do an of those!

Doug, Just a quick question....
Shouldn't the grouser bars be glued onto the outside of the track?

I am probably using the wrong terminology Kevin. I have tried to locate a tank tread parts reference on the www but only had limited success. Grouser bars, grouser plates I don't know???

My naval background has not included much involvement with AFVs. Those I have been involved with mostly had wheels (Coyotes, Cougars, Bisons & LAVs). In the shipyard where I work we build armor upgrade kits for army vehicles deployed in Afghanistan. Mostly under body stuff to reduce mine casualties.
