Oh, you brave, brave man. Not only is this one of Bohdan Wasiak's designs, the colors are horrible. They look more like tea stains. Having said that, I'm really glad you're doing it! This is one of the kits I pull off the stack every so often and almost decide to build. Maybe seeing your build will get me off my seat and build it!
Good luck and take plenty of pictures, please! Chris PS. The good news is that (if I'm remembering correctly) this one has a cockpit interior so at least you can do a clear canopy! Last edited by cjwalas; 02-02-2009 at 03:51 PM. |

Thanks Chris, the line between bravery and foolishness is not always clear, however I can't really comment on the model until I can see it:D

Today made a special trip to the PO for a package, turns out the stiff cardboard packaging was used to protect this precious antique. It looks older by far than the stated date, remindes me of a Rigby model the manner in which it is drawn, and the paper is faded and fragile. Perhaps it has been stored outdoors, you know or gone through the wash in someone's pocket. It's like an old dollar found outdoors in the spring when the snow melts. I'm going over my options now in my head....

Glen,
Look at this as a blessing - model came heavily weathered from prolonged exposure to the sun, wind and salt water :D

Sure, Mike! I think no option of using original paper for me with this particular specimen. What exactly I need to do I'm not sure, lots of interesting options, hand recoloring might keep some feel of originality, was considering watercoloring the parts and then copying onto regular paper. That might look cool. Or I could heavily seal the original paper, but there are waterspots on it, just can't really build it the way it is.

Actually, Glen, your copy looks less faded than mine! Scan and print, scan and print!
