If you are just using MS Paint, know that the .jpg save option has a very bad compression rate. If you want to keep it crisp and sharp, .png or .gif is your best option.

A perfectionist AND a papermodeler ... I do believe doing both is beyond me, although my standards are improving

Way cool!

I'll be waiting and watching...this would make a superb addition to a diorama. Perhaps you might consider a yellow and/or orange colored version? Besides those bearing the terminal's logos this seems to be the colors I recall seeing them in the most....

Cheers!

Thank you for the advice, I guess you can teach old dogs new tricks.

I was thinking the same thing. I thought about doing a yellow one and also a white one and maybe a red and white one also. As for the terminal logos I wanted to add those but wasn't sure what terminals to use or maybe do placards with all the logos and the builder can use what ever logo he wants.

Oh, the variety seems endless, no?

I've attached a photo example of one from a local terminal, Mahar terminals that operates in Port Elizabeth/Port Newark, and handles the Maersk Line ships (as far as I recall). A very interesting color scheme, with the white and red safety stripes.

Does your design include the option to have the boom up, such as they do when they are not in use and/or the ship is arriving or leaving the berth?

Cheers!
Jim

Well ladies and Gents, I have added my container cranes to the download section under, Ships and Maritime Hardware. I did six different color schemes. Even did a Red/White one for you Jim.

As time goes by I might work with the design more and add more detail and do as Jim asked and make the boom hing-able. This was my first design so I still have allot of learning to do.

If you have any problems please message me and I will help you through them.

Wow, Inky, they came out great!

I can't wait to print one out and build it.

I will post photos when I do.

Thank you so very much!

Cheers!
Jim

Those look real good. Thanks for the effort. The photos you see of all of those cranes lined up at the ports always make a good visual.
