modelik 1:25 - flakscheinwerfer 36

Hi !
A little presentation of the new model I start working on for a couple of days.

Few months ago I build the gpm pak 40 and for me it was new and really fun, little model but so much details, so I wanted to try something similar, here we go :

flakscheinwerfer 36 by modelik, in 1:25, or a searchlight if you prefer :D

What do we get for around 6€ plus laser cut - yes I'm that lazy... - ?
This time first impression feel like a top kit from modelik. 3 A4 for parts -one half double side -, no less than 5 A4 for instruction with 3d drawing (yes in a modelik kit :D !), 2 colours pages (inner covers) with 8 photos.

to be clear, lasercut cost around 1€ but you can skip it, no need and only include the "blank/white" parts. Should have checked before adding to basket :(

There 3 independents parts to do : the searchlight itself, generator and dolly. I don't see real difficulties beside lots of circles, many narrow. I will use my own scan (as a new member don't know the forum's policy about this, I include the book in photo)

Here progress on the generator, ok that's just a box, I'm out :D
bye

Hi dje. As long as you don't share it with anyone else you are free to scan and copy the model kit for your own personal use. Thank you for showing the book -it does preclude questions.

hi,

thank eatcrow2 ; fan border emplacement is a little messy but the grid hide everything will post picture tomorrow.

@Johnny ; those kinds of kit are really interesting, not that difficult, just need precision, it's all about details, bending copper, painting etc.. really fun I recommend !

bye

Done the generator.

didn't have photo etch grid, I used a grid from a tea pot. Only one issue, handles didn't fit, had to cut into the model to make spaces, result it's not that great :( (obvious on the last photo).
On top, you suppose to cut the 4 black marks than bend paper to make aeration. Wasn't confident enough on my skill, I let it this way. Same with button on control panel. I only made a couple of then, my cut for the red buttons wasn't good enough neither.
I may add rivets too (around the fan), well see.

Bye

thank tim,
It's actually an easy part to do, cut parts with a cutting compass than use a leather punch plier (wish I have an Aitoh );
For cable I used an old phone line cable, get the grey one and painted with tamiya nato black 69

thank romanmodels too

A little bit of work on the support.
No real difficulty, parts fit really well ; Locks are a little messy, they're ok but I could have done a better job...
Fell like starting new project so I will make a tiny break from this one just for few a days.
See you soon will more progress, bye !
