Hello Will,

you put a good craftmanship into your rose: maybe a girl will accept this as a token of sympathy, but what's about a woman and a lady?
I think, you have to go on a higher level; a tree should be the next step ...

With lovely greetings
the Wilfried

Excellent work! Very creative, she should be quite impressed! Alas, if I tried the same thing, the response might be "what is it?" haha!

it was 100% scratch built. No computer aid whatsoever. All I did was cut out shapes (for the petals) that were somewhere between a square with rounded corners and an oval with the bottom being somewhat narrower than the top (read egg shaped) and gradually increased the size as I worked outward. You do have to clip the bottom off occasionally (of the petals). Also as I made each petal I rolled the paper in both directions and then did my best to bend the top edges of the petals outward(without wrinkling or tearing). For the leaves I etched the veins into the paper with my mouse pad under it then folded them down the middle and rolled the paper either side of the middle vein so it had a realistic shape.

Hope this helps. And thanks guys for the comments.

The image is computer generated but it looks like they did better than I. If you want a good rose get theirs.

When I was dating my wife, I made her some hand made items. She loved and appreciated them because I had spent my free time making something for her. I still make her things now and then, only it's harder to make them in secret now!

It's not what you make but that you spent the time to do something special for her.

Best Regards,
