Gabriel Models Mig 17 Enlarged model
Hi People,
Just thought i should show the lates model i've built. It's a free model i've downloaded from Gabriel Models With his permission, i've extracted the PDF parts page and saved it to jpeg format which in turn I enlarged to fit on 36 pages A4 pages. Just thought people might want to see it. All credit to Gabriel, he's quite the designer! In my son's hand is the original 1:72 scale model... quite a difference isn’t it. Hope you like it. Here is my next project.... A Me-109 G2 also from Gabriel Models My son is standing next to the pages to show a size comparison... Pictures of the completed model will follow soon.... |

Back to the subject. I've also build Gabriel's Mig-17 enlarged and I was quite disapointed because it doesnt have internal structure so is very fragile.

Mig 17 & Me-109
Yes, it doesn't have support, but i'm sure it can be made if required, but the models is designed in such a manner that it's already very sturdy models.
The Mig 17 and up to now the Me-109 models isn't flapping around, just a little to the soft side and if not a little extra careful it can crinkle and dent easily. I should have printed the models on 160 gsm paper, but i'm happy at the outcome..... On Monday i will post the pictures of the completed Me-109.... hopefully. |

Werner,
Amazing enlargement! I often thought about doing the same thing as my brother has a 48" printer used for high quality posters etc. I believe that some of Gabriel's models might be available through the Digital Card Models line (I could be wrong) Have a look at ecardmodels.com. Chris might be able to answer that one Thanks for the inspiration and a great looking model Ron

Thank you Ron.
I believe if i could have had a very large plotter / printer which would have made it possible to print a one piece page without glueing a couple of pages together, i think it would have been better looking build. The saying in my language goes directly translated into english "Beautiful from far, far from beautiful" If you saw the model closeup, you would have noticed a couple of imperfections, but then again i'm definately not the expert builder like the people on this forum. Ok i finally got the pictures uploaded. The Me-109 in progress.... My Son (again) is the reference in size. He's turning 14 in August. Hope you like it...... |

I've believed that you are going to build it with clear canopy and interior details.

I've believed that you are going to build it with clear canopy and interior details. Not bad so far.
