Sliding Deer
(PAPER AUTOMATA) Author: Keith Newstead Source: Model Shop - printed model from the Automata Collection series Video: Sliding Deer - YouTube We got some snow so I taped together this paper automata by Keith Newstead. It's a shame that this author doesn't create much from paper anymore, his machines are unreal. Anyone interested can check out his website. (My Work – Keith Newstead Automata) I managed to get this paper automata in printed form, the parts were pre-cut, so all I had to do was retouch and glue. The range was 3.5 pages plus pictorial instructions. The finished machine works nicely. A few photos: |

Kissing Dolls
(PAPER AUTOMATA) Author: Katsuyuki Shiga (Pinoart) Source: Kissing Dolls - Moving toy / Mechanical Toy - Toys - Paper Craft - Canon Creative Park Video: Kissing Dolls paper automata - YouTube We recently had Valentine's Day, so I put together this themed kissing doll paper automata. This paper automata can be downloaded from the Canon website. (11 pages with parts/ 4 pages with picture instructions). I printed it reduced by 1/3 (I printed 2 pages on one). The paper automata works quite well, but it is quite difficult to balance the heads of the dolls (I helped myself with a piece of lead), because the heads are only loosely placed on the torso. It could have been balanced better, but I didn't have the nerve for it anymore... A few photos: |

Spread Eagle
(PAPER AUTOMATA) Author: Keisuke Saka Source: etsy.com Video: Spread Eagle paper automata - YouTube Another paper automata from Keisuke Saka. I didn't make any adjustments, just 2 variants can be built, either a dog or a cat, the difference is only in the head. So I don't have the head glued on, but it can be replaced...when gluing, everything fit and the finished machine works nice and smoothly. |

SUPER ROBOT DOG (OPTICAL ILLUSION) Author: BY MAN STUDIO Source: free model/internet Video: Super robot dog - YouTube ......this is not paper automata, but an optical illusion that gives the impression that the dog's head is spinning, so I'll put it here. I've had this little thing for a long time and I still didn't understand how it could deceive the eye... so I glued it on and still nothing, until the moment I took a picture of it, or made a video... it's unbelievable how it can deceive the eye - from a certain angle it looks like it's still looking at you |

Hello ZAX. It's a great illusion. I made a dragon years ago using much the same pattern as your dog. Had to remove it from display eventually as some people found it too unnerving.
