My 1st R2-D2

Just completed R2-D2 and learned a few things..

Number 1 is not to seal the bottom before attaching the top
#2 is not to seal the body until the top is completely connected
#3 is to take more time to let the glue set before moving to another connection point.

It doesnt look too bad but when looking at the top of the dome you can see gaps where they tabs didnt set properly.

My next one is going to be the cigar shaped UFO.
(not sure why this rotated my pictures since they show properly in my folder)

Nice build!!! I never had any interest in Star Wars, but I liked R2D2.

It's hard not to get into a hurry. Patience, Grasshopper. I have a top shelf where I put my models that I don't want people to look too closely at. Don't forget AirDave's speeder.

Thanks all.. Well the cigar ufo has been trashed.. I could not get it to build without big gaps on the internal parts.. so going to redo my first ufo again on cardstock in a slightly larger size.

A quick tip about photo's that I learned:

-New Phone and Pad cameras take really big photo's.
-This forum can't handle really big photo's, hence, they get rotated (dunno why)
-Shrink the photo's by about 60% so they'll show with the proper orientation (I open the pics in Paint, then resize 50%, then 75% and save.)
