Well, Bounty comes originally from the UK (was made by Mars of Mars Bar fame)... The Mars Bar (and Milky Way I think) were invented by Forrest Edward Mars Sr - an AMerican. He had moved to the UK where he founded the Mars Company.

In East Africa, it was well known and easy to get. The same in Europe and Russia. Also obtainable in Australia where they also made weird flavours!

And well known and sometimes available (at a horrendous price) in Central Africa, Botswana and Namibia.

Bounty Bars are available for $1.50 from the U.S.-based British Food Depot, which is the place from where I get my PG Tips Gold tea and Garibaldi biscuits: https://britishfooddepot.com/search....ection=product (Not sure why Pears soap shows up with candy bars.)

Funny...I was picturing a scale drinking establishment with a maritime/Tahitian theme....

I used to be married to an Aussie lass, she got me hooked on a candy bar called Crunchie. BEST candy bar I EVER had. Then
I found we have a candy here in the states that is similar to it called "sea foam"
but the chocolate covered kind.

She also showed me the correct way to eat Vegemite. Toast bread, spread butter on it, then spread Vegemite on the buttered toast, (a light layer until you get used to the taste). Fold the toast and eat with a tall glass of cold milk.

Vegemite tastes like a paste made from beef bouillon and is an acquired taste.

Marmite (Vegemite equivalent), yum. Now I have to go and make some toast to put some on. Bovril, beef extract commonly added to stews and as a hot drink while watching football ( the original kind) and while on exercise in the winter (Is there any other time to be on exercise?) also yum.

High cocoa varieties these days so less quantity and more quality
