Paper Roses
Looking to find out if anyone has designed or made templates foe lifelike/life size printable roses/flowers. I have a love interest that I am perusing and id like to show off my modeling prowess (if I had any lol) by building one of these and a life size version of the Johan Scherft life size ruby throated hummingbird getting nectar from it. Id like to find one in orange if I can (her favorite color) to do this with. Not looking for cricut templates as I plan on doing all buy hand and WANT to keep it such. any helpful links and files will be much appreciated. Will be helping to combat some issues with depression as well as making someone's day brighter.

Sasatoku and Canon come to mind, but you would need to adjust hue to orange

Have you seen this site?
Flowers – Peter Dahmen He makes some of the best pop up cards I've ever seen. You will also find him on you tube with tutorials for his kits -many are free. Here's a book of templates for 3 birds. I used them for a series of birds I was making for a Morris and Co exhibition. I copied the templates on the back of different wall papers. Here's a photo of one of the things I made. The flowers are hand made. If you are interested - I'll be happy to show you how to mount the birds into the flowers. Papercraft Birds How to make 3D paper craft paper sculpture | Etsy Cheers Mike |

Here's another google search that you might find interesting. It yielded many, many roses.

In 1970, I bought this book which tells how to create realistic appearing roses from crepe paper (Dennison brand, of course), as well as a number of other flowers. I made a few roses for my high school sweetbeart. A year later we were married (and remain so today)! And I still have the book!

Have you consider origami?
The magic rose cube is fairly simple and a fascinating. It transforms from a cube to a rose and vice versa. You need 3 green square sheets for the leaves and 3 other colours of your choice for the rose: How To Make an Origami Magic Rose Cube (Valerie Vann) - YouTube There are also tons of origami flowers ranging from the simple to challenging. The Kawasaki Rose will offer a good challenge if you are so inclined. |

I made this rose for my wife.
It is from the Canon website. The instructions are a little confusing so i went a bit free-form with it but i think it still looks good and my wife loved it.
