Marble of the Blue Turtle

Keisuke Saka has constructed many small cardboard automata.
Among them also a "marble eating turtle".

I downloaded it - for a fee - and built it in a quick run
I apologize for not coloring the edges,
My granddaughters will certainly pounce on it from Friday onwards
and dont tell their grandfather that the model does not look perfect.

During the construction I was always amazed,
how inventive and accurate the construction is.
Everything is just right! Also the building instruction in word and sketches leaves
no ambiguities arise.
The inner workings with the mechanics function smoothly.

The turtle separates the glass marbles eaten in the front
after a few turns of the crank at the back.
That is from my view the Clou of the whole.

Lovely model, really funny for your granddaughter!
It is possible that they want to "destroy" it to see how it's done inside...

My girlfriend's grandson has done that to me numerous times.

Beautiful piece, sir. I am sure they will enjoy it

I think they are too old for that - 4 and 7 years.
Besides, they are very careful.
They also know that her grandfather loves these little marvels.
The two grandsons would proceed quite differently.

They are certainly into it. Well, who wouldn't be? What's the castle in the background, if you don't mind me asking? It looks like another marble toy.

Yes, Philip, you saw correctly.
It is another model by Keisuke Saka,
called the Tower of Babel.

Really nice little models and new to me. I enjoy making automata!

Do you have a link for his site? I cannot track it down!
