Scratch built drums
Here are three photos of a drum set that I built from scratch using cardstock. It took more than a month to complete and I took them along with some of my other models to the Iowa state fair last year.

A very good piece of work. I can almost hear them being played!

How did you do the cymbals? Wet the paper and press to form? or Cut and shape?
Thanks Miles

I cut the cardstock in a circle, cut out a tiny wedge to give it a slight bell shape, glued it with Elmer's glue, then cut out a separate very small circle for the middle, did the same then used modeling putty to shape it. After a day I sanded it to shape, sprayed it with gold paint and that's how I made them.
