Lego man

i've found somewhere a zipfile with parts for a lego man and my son wants me to do one for him
i've done the legs and the body and will do the head soon
but is there any site with more of this guy and assembly instructions around?

I wonder if you you're referring to the same one I have - four .jpg files with legs in Lego1, head in Lego2, body in Lego3 (space lego theme), and arms/hands in Lego4.

I built mine out of heavy index stock - he proudly stands at the top of our Christmas tree every year (it's been 4 years and counting). I remember his hands being oddly difficult to build - I had to reprint on regular bond paper, but this was years ago, and he was one of my very first builds.

His hat is a little odd - I would have preferred the standard Legoman bald head.

Sorry no known instructions that I'm aware of. If you're stumped on something, maybe I could take a close-up of mine provided I can find him.

yes i sort of got stuck on what to do with the "round stuff" i e which ones go where

That's the one...he ends up being pretty durable if you get the articulated bits assembled tightly.

The various disks and rings act like washers and such to give him movement in his arms, legs and head.

The piece above his head is actually his pelvis, along with the long strip that's on the sheet with his legs. There are two disks with petals next the piece of pelvis on the sheet above his head - the petals go through the round white ring-piece at the tops of his legs, through the tan rings (serving as washers), then are splayed out and a-fixed with the solid tan disks. This isolates the glue pieces from the inside of his legs so his legs will move. I think I left the bottoms of his feet unglued to gain access to the insides of his legs for this.

The arms and head work essentially the same way. The triangular looking pieces on the arm/hand sheet are his shoulders - I think I glued them up before attaching his arms so I had access to the petals for his shoulder articulation.

The circular red pieces are the bottoms of his arms where his hands glue on. The red pieces with the "S" curve in them are his lower arms, the red trapazoids are his upper arms. The longer yellow pieces are his outer hands, the shorter yellow pieces are the insides of this hands. The "C" shapes are the tops/bottoms of his hands and the remaining bits are his wrists.

If you need more clarity, I could probably document some screen shots, but it would take someone with more talent than I to properly illustrate when I'm describing with regard to the assembly of the articulated bits.

Have you seen this site? Go down to the lower portion of the page and there you will find a bunch of LEGO style Star Wars figures. There's a few Mobile Suits from Gundam and ATs from Votoms also.

I re-designed his GUndam into the Mass production GM but you cannot e-mail him or I would have sent it to him :(
