Stork diesel ship engine
This is a re-issue of and old model of a diesel ship engine, made for the Stork engine factory in the Netherlands. The model is originally a 1:10 model of a 750 hp engine. However, I've reduced this model to 40% (1:25), and it will act as the ship engine of a 1:70 ship (SD14 Cargo ship 1:70 - Marcle Models), so I'm cheating a bit with scales here. I started building with 160 grams paper, but found this very difficult to work with in a hot, humid climate. Eventually I coated the prints with varnish, which made it easier to build.

So you are powering her! Who makes the engine kit?

It is a re-issue by Scaldis of a one-off kit made for the Stork engine factory in Zwolle, but the kit doesn't have the original year of issue on it. It was a lucky find at a modelling meeting during a recent home leave in the Netherlands.

Amazing builds, the Caro ship and this Engine. Looks like a Future Picture of the Week in the making.

Glad that I could help. I'm following your build too with interest. And the other one too. The model is dear to me but out range of my budget and modeling/storage space too. :-)
