Drummer boy
i'm going to try to do something i've wanted to do since i discovered this hobby
a giant drumkit of the brittish drummer Simon Phillips' drumkit, if you don't know who he is, he replaced the original drummer of ther rockgroup Toto (in fact he was the only choice) it will be large, that's for sure it will be done in sketchup (which has allready caused some problems) but the drums will hopefully be easy to do, the hardware though is another thing, so hopefully i will see it through it will take me a while though as i currently have other builds going on, but it will be a long term project

Cool idea! You could make a stage too and sit some of the available electric guitars and such up there as well.

...
what about Carl Palmer's Drum kit, with Double Bass, Double Gong, Timpani Drums, Kettle Drums, Synthesized Bells, and rotating Stage kit? or the tools of the "master" Neil Peart? acoustic drums, electronic drums, mallet percussion, gadgets, and of course gold hardware but don't get me wrong...I like Toto too!!! Canon has a free drum kit model, that would probably give you a head start on some of the design work.

Toto too? :D
I built a paper model drum kit as part of a joke a few years ago for my brother-in-law. He had stated that he would like a drum kit for his birthday so my neice was going to get him one. We conspired to give him the paper model first, then after he pretended to like it, she took him to where the real drum kit was hidden.

problem solved
now know what i did wong, i entered the diameter instead of radius when i made the drums, hence making the bass dum 48 inches instad of 24
so now i will start over again Doug and Dave Neil Peart is one of my housegods and has so been since 1976-77 and his kit is also one i want to do, not so many drums - but stands, stands and stands i don't know much about Carl Palmer, i know of ELP but have not listened actively to them one other i sort of plan to do is Phil Collins, a little bit easier as not so many stands I want to start with Simon Phillips' as i love his clean crisp distict sound and a setup which i find to be very ergonomical this is the green Toto set, but i also want to do his 30 anniversary kit as well
