Many thanks for this model Oliver. Its a great design and I've been looking for one for quite a while. I think its designed so that I can also use it for a buckboard, and a covered wagon as well as the chuck wagon.

Thanks again for a wonderful model.
Clif

You design such fun models, Oliver! I did not see the scale of this model.

Talking

I went to Ollie's site and downloaded the model but when I try to open it I get a "need password" prompt. How do I get a password?

Oh, I should probably do that rather than email him for passwords ... oops

I only did that once, and he sent a very gracious response.

Thanks, Oliver

chuckwagon diorama

As a chuckwagon cook here in arizona I was amazed at this model. As I was building it, I did notice a small problem. The lid to the chuckbox is in the wrong spot. The lid should be attached to the lower portion of the chuckbox. The current position of the lid/table is at the bottom of the boot. The boot holds the heavy equipment such as dutch ovens, kettles frying pans etc. If a cook was to use the lid in the position it is in now it would be too low and would require constant bending over . The correct position is approx. waist high. check out pictures of actual chuckwagons in operation and you will see the difference. I have adjusted mine accordingly and if I knew how to post pictures I would show the difference.
this is a really great looking wagon and I want to compliment Olie on a really great job
thanks Frank

Silveroxide, the word "vittles" is a modified pronunciation of the word "victuals", Middle English vitaille, victuayle, from Anglo-French, from Late Latin victualia, plural, provisions, victuals, from neuter plural of victualis of nourishment, from Latin victus nourishment, way of living, from vivere to live.
