That's amazing. How does Mr Paul Smith get the perspective right, and how does he get such great depth sharpness? It depends probably on the camera type, so I wonder what he uses.
Anybody an idea?.

It's a $60.00 Olympus compact like mine. Keeping the lights bright and the lens angle wide helps. Put it on a tripod and move back and forth. You can also increase depth of field with a digital camera by increasing the film speed but at some point it will get to granny. Some times an out of focus background looks better.
The library has photography books and magazines.
I was really impressed by his base. I'm going to go look behind stores looking for an old sheet of MDF tomorrow.
There was a Mr Rodgers type show on British TV that used a whole village of Chip's HO houses in it's credits

I've noticed on my behalf, that shooting the object from, "eye level" adds to the perspective.
