Videos about how to make a plastic model
Most of us know how paper models are made.
Here are a couple of videos about how to make a plastic model: Fabrica da Hasegawa-Belissimo e Raro Video- Plastimodelismo - YouTube and Factory tour Zvezda 2018 - YouTube |

Good idea I just need to remember to do it. Anyway as much as I remember. We weren't doing model kits, just a general job shop. Everything from 50gal trash cans to mainframe computer reels. The most difficult was a large pipe connector. Was a different compound resin had to run about 80 degrees hotter and a 100psi more pressure. Plus was a two stage. Did the 1st one, had to open up access door, put 3 threaded metal connectors in, and then run 2nd stage to seat them and build up around then.
Place is a lot cleaner and safer looking then the plant I worked in in the early 70's. Especially like the robot arm that picks the piece off the ejector pins and place them. We had to reach in a pull them out by hand if they didn't have the pins set up to kick them out into the tray below or if a pin stuck. The one thing the same is the ladies on the packing line. Doesn't look much different then photos in R&C Models from 1965. Of course everything else is computers: CAD, CNC and Desktop Publishing for the boxes, instruction sheets and decal art. |
