My other job- Perks
Hey all. I guess the subject leads the way here. While I normally play the role of science teacher, my second job is as an educator/ tour guide at the Strategic Air and Space Museum here in Nebraska. The museum used to be called the SAC museum, and it was based at Offutt AFB. About 10 years ago it moved to its current location. Any who, As an educator/tour guide, I usually do overnight and summer flight camps. I'm am usually the flight instructor (we use suped up comps to run FSX). I also do a lot of tours. It's been said by my boss that I know more about those planes in my 4 years working there than some people do that have worked there for 10 years. I absolutely love seeing the old planes there in all of their glory. One huge perk I get is that I can go through most of the planes usually whenever I want. :D But alas, my main goal of this was to show you something that's on exhibit. There is a large Vietnam display, and one particularly on the B-52. This is a very large model that's on display. It's wingspan is about 5 feet! I just love the details.

I believe it's a custom made resin. But I'm not sure. It's about 15 years old though.

Billy,
I've thought about getting into the Goblin. Many times, but I didn't want to break something so rare because I tried to cram my huge self into such a tiny thing. But, I've been in the B-36 a dozen or so times. I've even traversed the tunnel a few times. It's fun! |

That B-52 model is impressive. I have an old edition of the GPM B-52. It's a huge model- the 'book' is 1/2" thick. The span is 67" (1.7m), probably simliar to the one in your display. Those photos give me some idea of what it would look like (if I ever attemted to build it)!
