I can see why you had to do the majority of the build. Figures are probably one of the most difficult to build when it comes to can modeling and judging by the complexity, this Gundam looks to be no exception. I've done some Star Wars figurines in small scale, but after that, I decided anything else that was a figure would have to be big due to the complexity. That's probably why I opted to build my R2 unit in 1:1 scale. But even then, I ended up doing about 90% of the work myself!

Just in case you're interested, the pig mom is an enlarged copy of the miniature pig. Poster printing 3x3 gives you 9 pages to cut and paste before laying it on the cans to cut out the parts. There was no pattern to follow as far as the poses of the pig mom is concerned. Just imagination and trial and error. Must say that I can never do a second one exactly the same.

Looks interesting and hard-those rounded edges will be tough to roll. What make is it?
If you are interested in tanks those can be fun.Something like FT-17,T-26 or armored cars perhaps? |

German WWII tanks are by far the best subjects for can modeling in my humble opinion. The Tiger, Panther, Panzer III and Panzer IV all make excellent subjects. I recent did a Stug III and and found it to be an excellent subject as well.
Vehicles are also fun. I've done everything from Formula 1 to exotics like the Lamborghini and Porsche. Here's a couple of mine that fit this topic of conversation: Brabham F1 racer: Stug III With AFV's I have found that there are many ways to build. You can opt for the more tedious method of making road wheels out of can if you are competing or want a more realistic product, or if you are into re-purposing as some of my clientele are, you can use 2 litter bottle lids, water bottle lids, or even Tattoo cups to produce your own road wheels. There are endless opportunities to build these unique works of art... |
