The extra detail really improves the look on this classic workhorse.

No.44, Diamond 40 (Murph Models) 1/33 with motorized props
I would like to announce that the motorized props project is a success. At first the motor didn't move because of bad wire connections because I didn't solder them at all. After reworking the nose section and did some surgery, the motor, with wires properly soldered, was re-installed and voila.....it works. Other than the motorized props, the rudder, flaps that are connected with strips of thick paper, can be moved by hand.
I will continue to think of ways to hide the battery, either inside the plane or outside with a pod to hold a small battery under the fuselage, or inside a stand made to measure. Any suggestions are welcome. Here are pictures of the model before and after modification. BTW, Murph's original Diamond 40 is 1/25 just in case you're curious. |

No.45, Murph's Grumman LLV US/Canada Post Truck, 1/72
While awaiting a remote control and battery set to come to be fixed onto the Diamond Star DA-40, I now present another soda can model for your views.
It's Murph's Grumman LLV US/Canada Post truck, originally 1/32 but now reduced to 1/72. It is intended to be a gift to a friend who has given me 8 Pocari Sweat cans to do something. So it's done using only one sheet of Pocari Sweat can. This friend has a grandson and thus the cartoonistic LLV has now got two eyes instead of the head lamps. It can be pushed to run and I hope that it can survive and last some time in the hands of a kid. |

Going back to No.44 Diamond DA-40 Diamond Star, the remote control unit with the control key and LR44 button battery are now bought at Taoboa. They are now installed inside the fuselage of the plane. Click the lower button on the control key, the props star and click the upper one, the props stop.

I got a smile out of the postal truck. Of course, almost anything is improved by the addition of googly eyes! I once mentioned to a Japanese friend that “Pocari Sweat” really didn’t sound that appetizing in English, and they couldn’t understand why I felt that way, although their command of the English language was excellent.

Thanks, Amccombs3. Yeah, "Sweat?" I avoided the drink previously but now find it not too bad, much lighter than other so-called energy drinks.
