2019 Paint Graphic Completed
Decided to use my wideformat printer to print full size stencils for painting the Red, White and Blue Graphic.
Yesterday the final painting was complete. Took it for a ride today. Added less than 7lbs of paint total when done. Brushed it on with a small paint brush. Total cost for paint: Less than $100 USD including supplies. Here are some photos of progress and final look. Favorite knife to cut stencils: Stencils: Wing Stencils: Wing Painted, both Top & Bottom completed: Everything Painted: Preflight Inspection Completed out of hanger: Time to go flying: Mike |

The final result looks real good.
So, did you try to use the same amount of paint on each side to keep the plane in balance?

Only thing left to do is trim the wing tips to a nice rounded shape. Don't forget to edge colour after you cut. What? This isn't paper? Nevermind then.

certainly livened up the plain look of your plane!
Looking forward to seeing it in person when you come over to Dayton. Isaac

Vacation Approved
Quote:
Vacation has been approved at work, airplane passed yearly inspection, new radios installed, new instrument installed. Only things left are a fabric water diverter (when canopy is opened when it is raining, water slides off directly into my radio stack), and my aux fuel tank is completed for the trip. Plan is to be in Dayton towards the end of first week of June. Should know a few days ahead of time which day will find me there. Look forward to meeting. Mike |

Photo of My RV-6 With Visitors
Last summer at lunch, was spending with RV-6 to watch airplanes land/take-off / over fly the Kenai airport.
Well there was a bunch of these parked at the far end where the fire fighting equipment is staged. They were visiting as a group, Kenai designated as an aux option for them in bad weather. My RV at its berth. The following photos and the videos I have are easily worth 6-months of paying $40 a month for the tie-down space. Talk about front row seat for take-off! You can't get this close during airshows! Finally the last two to take-off, one of the by-standers on the other side of the taxi-way couldn't stand it. She just had to be where I was! Oh yes, there was a big crowd, until these last two left, I had the best seat! Have videos of them taking off, not sure if want to share online. They are front line. Although, lost track of them and most videos not that good. Oh, and cussing on the first, you need to experience what an afterburner feels and sounds like at that distance to understand the minimal cussing. "SH" Mike |

THey had a couple of those doing flyovers at the last Luke Day. THey had a demonstration of a typical "Enemy Airfield Suppression and Takeover" that included F-25s bombing the field, and an MC-130 pretending to drop troops (It was too windy that day to actually let the troops jump out).
I think part of the F-35's assault package is blowing out enemy eardrums, cause those buggers are LOUD. |
