repeat-
heres a few examples that I have created...dig out those 3D glasses! (you might have to try different glasses for some of the images) I think these are all Red/Blue glasses images. (click on the images to view bigger) My very first attempt at a 3D anaglyph. this is a Show Truck I painted, and using a single photo from the car Show, I created this anaglyph. Unfortunately the 3D effect is way too strong on this one! The same Show Truck at a later show (we won Best of Show this time!)...and another, better 3D image from a single photograph. This promotional photograph was created for a friend/business associate who builds custom cars. He built this "Munsters" Coffin Car and so I used a single photo of the car, my own digital background and the logo I created to make this 3D image.

This Hot Wheels Spliitin Image 3D I created using 2 digital photos take at slightly different angles.
A photo of my Mother's Garden/Yard...3D using one original digital photo. One of my favorite 3D images to date...I made this desktop image for my PC, using a single photo (I found online). ZZ Top...3 members...in 3D

and probably my most complicated 3D image.
Spiderman took one single original image...I created a dozen different layer images and then produced a simulated right and left digital image. The final 3D anaglyph is 1600px x 1200px at 300dpi! This is a much smaller version...

The Rover was equipped with its own Anaglyph Stereoscopic camera and NASA has been able to create some fantastic 3D shots of the Mars surface. heres one of NASAs photos: one of the problems I have noticed with filtered anaglyphs (created in Photoshop, etc) is the 3D effect is usually pretty good but the images are very red/blue and lose all their natural colours. This works just fine for Black & White images... It is not hard to create good 3D effect and still retain a natural looking photo with all its full colour.

A Few Pictures of the Guppy Transport
Some pictures I took of the Guppy on the ground at the Redstone Airfield. The last two thumbnails link to anaglyphs of the plane, made from photo pairs made on-site. |

AirDave, Thanks for the comments on my anaglyphs on my thread. These are some really nice images that you've created and posted. I don't quite understand how the stereo image is created using a single image (ZZ top for example). Is there a web site that describes this process? I'd like to learn more if you can point me to a link, book, article etc.....
To answer your question about what kind of rig I use.......... I've tried just about everything available that I can afford, which isn't all that much. Now I use a Fuji W3/3D digital camera, it takes both images at once and then I use StereoMaker software to created the final image. I'll post a couple of anaglyphs that I've taken with this camera........give me a day or two to get them posted. Been a very busy summer working around the house and yard and haven't hardly logged into PM.com at all. Good to hear from you and be back soon, Swampfox |
