I've seen few wooden models from that series (if that was indeed a series). Sopwith Camel,SE-5,Ni-11 Babe and Spad VII were in possession of a friend of mine. He got it from old Canadian Legion building before demolition. Old but very sturdy and correct models. All were sold with decals that yellowed badly after the years.

I use to have that Roland D.II as well. Airfix kit. Simple but fun kit to make.

"001 is where it all began, my first models, in 1944. You have to be really old to remember these."

Yes, old indeed! Not only I do remember them, I built a B-17 and a fighter of some sort...think it was a P-40. I also tried my hand at a stick and tissue PT-19, which I totally botched, to my mother's dismay of $.25 wasted. According to Google, that $.25 would be $375 today!

I forgot to add that the paintings are great. Did you do any art commercially? They certainly look to be professional quality! Well done. Jim

old stuff update

Hi All;

The corvette dates back to 1998 and is built plate for plate in 1/96 scale from polystyrene, brass and aluminum. The ship is RCMS Agassiz an early Flower Class Canadian Corvette. The winch was made of old watch parts. If you look carefully you can see into the pilot house, and into the open space below the main gun. The only protection from the sea was a canvas shield. Guess where the heads were. The PBM is true kit bashing. The wing is modified from an old Airfix B-29. The fuselage is balsa and the rest is plastic sheet and old kit parts. When it was built there were no 1/72 kits of the machine. Always liked the aircraft and it was the only way to get one.

Regards, rjccjr

old stuff

Hi All;

Here is a series of old time aircraft done back in the seventies and eighties. All are kit models in 1/72nd scale. Most of them are hand painted by brush. Imaging doing a lozenge pattern by hand. They have stood up well for a long period of time and are a colorful assortment.

Regards, rjccjr

Mighty fine corvette model. I like everything else you've shown here and was especially fond of seeing one plane in FAF livery. ;-)

old stuff update

Hi All;

Here are a few more paintings. These are all unframed. There simply weren't enough walls in the house to fit them. Some of them are failures anyway. One dates way back to 1955. It was one of the first that I tried to do. It was a dud, but my mom liked it. So, it never got tossed out.

Regards rjccjr
