Trees in the flowerpots

Once I tried to prepare a base for the 1/35 Celtic warrior and I thought of slightly bigger circular base (made of a birch trunk slice) with the oak tree (a very symbolic and important plant for the ancient Celts).

But when I begun, I was extremely happy with the plant cover so finally I ended with filling the whole base with the shrubs, mosses and ferns, leaving no free space for the figure itself. In fact, I love Nature far more than a Civilisation...

And, moreover, I decided to make a whole series of similar "little landscapes", recreating (if only possible) different species of the trees and different seasons, and to use flowerpots filled with gypsum mortar to make the base more stable.

Well, it was my own idea, however (as usual) later I found more similar creations on the Internet. Anyway, I am still impressed with the results. The photos don't reflect the details nor the scale but maybe you will find these images pleasant or maybe inspiring.

This was the first idea, later abandoned.

The second landscape presents the edge of the forest on the verge of a summer and an early autumn.

This time I used few more techniques: some branches were made of a soldered wires and of the rectangular press-welded and galvanized mesh, cut and bent to the shape.

I used more types of the ready "self-adhesive clumps of grass" (at least 6 different colours) and some paper leaves in addition to the these made out of the original leaves.

Mushrooms, butterfly and few flowers were made of paper (and the latter partially of the polymer sponge).

That's lovely, Viator. How about a Zen garden next?

Oh, yes, you hit the point. Maybe not the sand garden but obviously I'm planning to make a Japanese style garden corner. Exactly, yesterday I receive the parcel from the USA with three more mini-punches. One of them was the most important for me. It was the punch with a Japanese (palmate) maple leaf. I want to do something resembling these photos (see attached), with a maple tree, a lantern and a path, covered with red maple leaves. I wonder if I succeed in making a realistic look.

The work is still in progress, but I promise to finish the diorama before the autumn is over.

It was a good idea to use the tangled willow root as a tree branches. They look very picturesque. It going to be a fine piece of landscape!

To Be Continued...
