Scratchbuilt Space Plane

What can be done with a dried-up Sharpie and some card?

I decided to build a space plane/rocket reminiscent of typical artwork found on vintage sci-fi paperback books. Something that would perhaps take off and land vertically, like the Spacex Starship.

I made the wings and tail from pieces of 160gsm card layered to different thicknesses. Panel detailing is also card. The engine is a lid from something-or-other. Retro thrusters/positioners were made from plastic rod and positioned on the tail, wing roots and forward fuselage underside. The card components were coated in dilute PVA after attachment, which strengthens them. After priming, I sprayed everything (except the engine) with Tamiya polycarbonate paint. The windows were cut from self-adhesive black vinyl. Waterslide decals from my sparesbox were applied, then everything sealed with a coat of matt varnish.

The other end of the Sharpie is next......
