Free Shipping at Hobby Link Japan

I am in no way affliated with Hobby Link Japan,

but since they do carry laser cut paper models of trees and foliages, and they do also carry a wide array of hobby supplies, I think some people might like to know that they offer FREE shipping this week

I think a dollar is 94 yen right now...

I'm so pissed off that I have no money until the 3rd of next month! Shipping on PG Gundam models so expensive! GOD DAMN!

Actually, the scale came out way off when I mathed it. Thus, it's actually 1/7th scale or so. (I did the wings and they came out at over 3 feet long, according to the amount of paper. That makes the plane 7 to 8 feet wide and about 7 feet long. 7 feet is two meters.

VF-1: 14 meters. 14/2=7)

geez, that is so ground breaking Schiz, are you using Getter 1 and Janx's model? How did you scale it up and why do you have so much space to work with?

I hope you are using metal frames for internal structural support.

we gotta see some pics man.

Getter and Janx's Wolfpack VF-1J, to be specific.

My post in this thread explains how I did it. I was shooting for 1/18th, putting it at about 2 and a half feet long. But, in my state of tired stupor, I miscalculated the scale. So, when I scaled it up in the PDF to screencap, I ended up making it 3 times the intended size. The beauty of paper is this is completely doable.

I'm thinking of buying 110lb card and plenty of stronger-than-Elmer's glue (I may try UHU, I may try CA). Of course, supports will be made of paper, since I'm a bit of a purist and I know I can do it with paper. Metal only makes it heavier, you know.

Bit of trivia: To print the wings, alone, at Kinko's would cost you $35 on 65lb card, in color.

Yeah, I mean, I still have a helluva way to go, but it's gettin' there. But, you finish what you got on your plate and if you still want to help, I'll set you up for it.
