I finish The Mummy some days ago but I have not had the time to make the pictures yet. He was very hard in some ways. But also not so different then when I paint resin statues and figurines for other crafts.

I could not quite replicate the chalk white look from the photo of Lon Chaney. But I look at pictures on-line of real mummies and dessication to see how colors might look if the Mummy he was real after all.

The Witch model it has good instructions that describe how to make the model look more realistic also. The instructions here they just say to paint the Mummy "cream" and "white" colour. But in The Witch they say how to make the shadows, etc. So I do that here.

Great job, really like the texture and aging on the cloth.

Nice work, KGL. He looks just like I remember seeing him look on my old black and white television.

Thank you. It was interesting to make him not so monotone in colour and difficult to remove the moulding seams.

Outstanding work on the finish - I gave up on plastic years ago due to my terminally deficient painting skills (love the color printer!). You've got a very good eye and the skills to realize your vision, well done.

Yogi (I'd turn green with envy, but I just can't seem to get the color right ...)

That is a good job, KGL. I have always admired people who could paint well. Your Mummy is realistic and scary. He is not paper, but thank you for sharing him with us.

KGL, you can also add a bit of "decrepitude" with some brown pastels. You ladies usually have tons of the stuff in your boudoir in the form of eye shadow.

You need only selectively apply the different brown shades to areas that we expect to see wear and tear- feet, elbows, knees, and the like. You can actually use your shading wands as you would on your eyes.

How do I know this: I have a cosmetologist's set of make-up pastels that I use when I do figures.

BTW, nice job on the model.

Well gee, Lala, not much else to say that hasn't already been said.
Great job. I, too like the coloring on the face and cloth. I think you did a great job bringing out the textures by using a more realistic color scheme. I use to do that on my miniture soldiers in order to bring out details you wouldn't see if it was all monocrome...like you did.
Thanks tons for sharing the pictures. I look forward to your next one.
