My one and only venture into figure modeling
This is "Fantastic Cora" based on Raquel Welch's character from "Fantastic Voyage". Since you guys were sharing I thought I would jump in as well.

Is this a specific scene from the movie? I don't know if her outfit supposed to be white and if it is that is fine too, but I'd like to make a suggestion and you can take it or leave it of course. Because she has such light skin tones, it might add more visual interest to the piece if you painted the clothes a darker color. Something to match her eyes or even some color from the base. Something to help draw the viewers eyes to look around the figure instead of being drawn to the bright colors of the base. This can be accomplished with some careful reworking and steady hands, which you appear to have. With such a great face and a figure to match, that is what the viewer should be invited to gaze at. I think it is well done and it could be really eye catching if some color was added to the figure. These are just suggestions and your the only one that has to be happy with the piece. Hope your not offended by my uninvited suggestions. Nuf said, SFX |

Nice job painting those figures. It helps when talented sculptors like Cusinelli provide such a wonderful 'canvas'. RE: Cora, I believe the white outfit was from the movie, sort of a scuba suit.
Thanks for sharing, guys!

Maybe it's because I'm old, but I thought "Fantastic Voyage" was a classic sci-fi movie. The white diving suit is from the movie, and it caused my cheap digital camera to over-expose badly. You're certainly correct that a differant color would have worked better but I wanted to remain faithful to the movie.

I just spent most of my life trying to make images visually interesting and even after being retired for more years than I'd like to mention, I just can't turn off the brain when it comes to looking at the world that way. Thanks, Swampfox |
