Workshop Success!!

Well, we had our workshop and it was a great success. Thanks to everyone who helped out.

Some pics...we (me and my daughter) set up the room, we had a table to show examples of tools, some layouts of a couple of models...etc.

We did the free hovel from Dave Graffam and the little dragon that is an illusion...they loved both models.

Then, to my great surprise, the two employees of the library that had been in the class created like 4 models between themselves. Then I go to the library yesterday and they have created a display table will the new books that the library obtained and they had created some additional models. All the models on that table were done by the two employees in like a weeks time...I WAS SO PROUD OF THEM!!!

All in all it was a great experience...and who knows, we may form a club, and may even host a contest / show next year.

I'd do it again in a heartbeat. It restored my interest in this great hobby!!

Glad to hear it. Perhaps there will be some future modelers come out of this experience.

Great job Tazman3! We are now that much closer to enslaving the world to the hobby of papermodels!

By the way, where was this library?

Looks like you had fun. Great Job. Gotta keep the new modelers coming. By the way Did you make up that hand out or is available from someone else. Would like to get a copy for a display that I'm doing in October.

Outstanding! Kudos to you and your daughter for taking the time to do this. It's amazing the impact something like this can have - when folks realize they can create with their own hands. And who knows, they just might learn something about architecture, building, or biology before they're done.

Great Thread, always good to read about something like this. Getting ready to do something similar myself!

Thanks for the inspiration!

Yeah, I did most of the handouts, the "students" from the library did one of them, either way you are free to distribute those Chris. If you want to add them to downloads that is ok too...might just want to remove the library numbers is all...Or I can do it, just PM me.
