Profile of Sopwith Triplane
Back when I was working as an Illustrator I had a request from a client to create this profile drawing of a Sopwith Triplane. This was about 15 years ago so I don't recall what he had planned for it and I don't even know if he used it.
I used Adobe Illustrator 5 or 7 as I recall and it was a fairly detailed drawing. I can tell you, if you really want to learn how an a/c looks externally, draw or paint it. It had about 100 layers, for those of you that know how Illustrator works. I created all the textures using the various tools in the software and learned a lot about creating shiny metal surfaces. After this illustration I've never created another a/c profile. Anyway, hope you enjoy. SFX |

SFX, that is a beautiful profile, also quite uncommon colours. I can well imagine how satisfied you must have felt finishing it. And I appreciate what you say about if you want learn what an aircraft really looks like, try to make a profile or a drawing of it!
I enjoyed watching this (and please see your PM box for a suggestion). - Leif |
