Absolutely awesome, thanks a lot! I've never tried this but it looks like a lot of fun

I saw some amazing can art when I was in Zimbabwe earlier this year. Walking around the flea markets of Harare I met this one guy who used cans to make lizards (they were really cool).

I'll have to upload some photos of them when I get the chance.

Laters!

I look forward to seeing these! In the meantime I continue to work on my 43 inch long F-15 Aggressor model complete with lighted instrument panel. Pictures of this awesome project are coming soon. Stay Tuned!

The F-15 Aggressor build is in full swing. I would like to extend a special thanks to Mike Bauer for creating the custom plans which I have begun to build this massive craft with. This build has been trying in many ways and I have endured personal attacks by those who would dare to question the method to my madness and even my reputation as a builder. Despite this I have continued to build without delay because the project has been sponsored by the IPMS which is a rare invitation given that I do not build with the medium of choice. This model will be the center piece in a display featuring many Aggressor aircraft and markings.

Here is the model on my kitchen table after nearly three weeks of construction. The massive model is right now measuring 39.5 inches long with a roughly 27 inch wing span. She has a detailed cockpit complete with lighted instrument panel. Her afterburners are also wired to light up and actually glow red when the 9 volt battery is inserted.

Her afterburners are taped on pending installation hopefully tomorrow and her nose cone should be installed by the end of the week, bringing her to a total length of just under 44 inches

Busy, busy week in the workshop this week with this and another high profile project that we unable to announce at this time....
Again, many thanks to Mike for his help with the plans for this one. The project is nearly complete. All that remains is to complete the camouflage scheme of the Aggressor F-15s using the dark Pepsi blue cans. The overall length is right at 44 inches and a wingspan of 28 inches.

More updates to come soon!

Roy, your F-15 looks awesome! I'm curious though, why did you use four totally different types of cans to build it? Why not stick with a single type of can throughout the entire model?

Well, the short answer to that question is that, the client requested it built that way. The theme of the IPMS show has to do with the Aggressor squadrons and they wanted a center piece that matched the theme in question. The owner of the area's largest hobby shop showed me this photo:

And asked me if I could build it at around 3 foot long. His request was that the light blue in the above photo be Diet Pepsi Silver, the darker blue in the photo be regular Pepsi, the gray be the Dr Pepper 10, and that the burners were done with Pepsi One. He paid for the project and supplied all of the cans required to build the aircraft. So essentially, this project was more about art and color than it was matching logos or cans and it is an arena that I am not bashful about jumping into, so I happily took the job. In my opinion, the best art can only be produced when we step out of our comfort zone and bring such ideas to fruition...
