In Germany the phrase would be:
"Alles Gute zum Geburtstag" or "Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag"

In casual Indonesian, 'Selamat ulang tahun', occasionally followed by a dip on the pond
I remember '生日快樂' from my mandarin class long ago

A few more from my birthday thread....
"Janmadin Mubarak" - Hindi (from Nilmarsh who started this all!) "Hyvää syntymäpäivää!" - Finnish from Tapcho. "Alles Gute zum Geburtstag" - German from Matthew. -------------------------------------- Some others I know and I think are right (am not a n expert linguist at all but just know a few common phrases from some languages I had a smattering of or picked up over the years). French - "Joyeux Anniversaire" Portuguese - "feliz Aniversário" (I think) And some from Africa.................. Swahilli - "Furaha ya kuzaliwa" Shona - "Makorokoto ezuva rokuzvarwa" Zulu - "Usuku olumnandi lokuzalwa" Arabic - "Eid milad saaid" (Happy Birthday) or "Kullam wa antum bi khayr" (Blessings for the upcoming years) - also used for the New Year.

Since Finnish was already quoted (twice) here are three more languages spoken in Finland:
Swedish - Glad födelsedag Sami - Somás riegadanbeaivve (in Lappland) Romani - Latcho nastero divvus And since we have inhabitants from other nearby nations too: Estonia - Palju õnne sünnipäevaks Russia - поздравляю с днём рождения (I wonder if got this one right?) With Google Translate https://translate.google.com/#fi/en/...0syntymapaivaa you can translate and learn to pronounce almost any languages. No Kingon language, tho.

Missed the beer somehow Rick. Think someone else must have drunk it when I was not looking!

Well, seeing that South Africa was a Dutch Colony for years, it would stand to figure
