Oh so many years since I heard that one, as a young chavver at my Grandmother's knee, , but she also always told me "The Romani language is never written Yiannis ... T'is bad luck to do as such."

Oh, and to add some more from the Netherlands; as some of you might know, we have a second official language in the Netherlands called Friesian. It is spoken in the uppermost north east part of the country and the wadden sea islands. It has its roots in the same family of languages as celtic.
- fan herte lokwinske mei dyn jierdei (Cordial best wishes with your birthday (literally it saysyearday- which actually is how to pronounce it: fahn hairte lock-winske mai deen yearday.)
- lokkige jierdei (happy birthday (lockigah yearday))

I personally think Friesian is a very pretty sounding language. It is as melodic as Swedish can be and it has a certain poetic quality that I cannot find in Dutch.
Of course the Dutch language has a truckload of different dialects, like Gronings, which is spoken where I live.
We Grunnegers say Filesetaaierd mit dien verjoardag. (Feel-a-set-tired mit deen vejore-dahg)

We speak American. Any resemblance to actual English is accidental.

In Spanish we say feliz cumpleaños, and in Costa Rica we use the word mae, that is the equivalent to buddy or dude, but depending of your relationship with that person, you say te estás volviendo roco, that means you're getting older
Costa Rican Spanish is very interesting, and Latin Spanish is in some ways different from the original Spanish
PD: you can see in this post that English is not my native language
