Since the live owls are not 'accomodating', you reminded me of an owl I meant to build from the Upopoy site, ペーパークラフトで アイヌ文化体験 | ウポポイマガジン Printed it off this AM EDIT -- Should have mentioned that this was designed by Ayumu Saito of Canon Animals fame

Thanks, folks. Well, I probably should elaborate a bit on my health issues since late February. On a routine blood test, they found I had a glucose reading of 655 mg/dL. The glucose numbers have been amazingly good, averaging 105 since the 1st of April, but Metformin was turning me into an invalid. Why it messes with my legs, I don't know. They switched me to Jardiance which gives me brain fog and difficulty focusing. I hope I am not making a mistake, but I stopped the Jardiance last Monday 'unless it becomes obvious that I can't control it with diet and exercise'. Since then I have been back to being able to stand in place for up to 20 minutes without dropping like a rock (it had been down to 3 minutes while on Metformin). I am able to walk around the block without taking a break and today I walked a quarter mile. Doesn't sound like much, but it is a vast improvement.
Oh, yeah, and my glucose is at 109 today. I am hoping to be able to get back to normal soon. Wish me luck

My favorite is the creature in image 5.
Happy Birthday, and keep the exercise going. |

Although I understand the creature in the Indonesian Barong Dance is a mythical lion, it reminds me of Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, on his way to the Western Paradise.
Thanks for sharing the info about your health, Dave. Keep that glucose at 109 and I will try to do the same. Don |

I adore Valoo, too. One for my grandson and going to do another one for my shelf. He looks like he's a 5 year old dragon who is having to be in time out. Don, I have a resolve (probably more like an angry drive) to get my life back. My doctor has been amazed at my progress in spite of the leg issues. He says that I am one of the few patients he has had that is following a correct diet. And appreciates my opinions on everything surrounding my treatment and the effects of the treatments. Most patients will ignore their diets 'because that is what the medications are for' and they don't keep track of 'where they are'. So, he usually takes his patients' comments with a grain of salt. I religiously track my numbers with notes about how I am doing on any given day, which gives him useful information. All I know is that I am way too young to be the invalid I have been for the last 2+ months, and I seem to be turning the corner towards normalcy again. Whew
