Thanks for the greetings!

Many thanks for all these greetings, my Paper Modeling Friends!

It was a most enjoyable birthday. The weather could not have been more beautiful. My first greetings were from my two adult grandsons, both of whom grew up as paper modelers. The oldest now teaches computer game design and freelances as a game designer, animator, and illustrator. The youngest is a Peace Corps Volunteer in Foundiougne, Senegal, West Africa. In the course of the day, I also received calls from all our adult children.

In addition to all these good wishes in the Forum and from friends and colleagues, I also received a greeting and a paper airplane from the staff of the Air Force Museum Foundation (image below). Then I received a message from the editor of Sea History letting me know that they are going to publish a letter from me in the next issue. I spent some time with an on-going aviation history correspondence in two forums, and then got an email from a paper model designer friend, who gave me a special model he had designed that fits directly in with my particular aviation history and model building interests.

Lil, our oldest daughter Peg, and I then went to see a film and to have a great meal at a favorite restaurant. The day ended with a visit from some friends and a cake from one of my local hangouts.

So, a great birthday. Today, I have a class in East Asian art history. I look forward to doing some paper modeling and enjoying a Zoom session with paper modeling pals tomorrow and to more years of participating in this Forum with all of you.

Happy Birthday Gentleman Don!

Glad you had a great birthday!

May the year ahead bring many folds,

between peaks and valleys,

never a mere half-fold,

through the gate

a roll fold, never leaving you cross (fold),

from quarter, to double, to a parallel fold,

And accordion to to paper-masters,
there's none better than you...

Happy birthday!
