16th Century Spanish Galleon

I stumbled upon a 16th century Spanish galleon model on a blog. There was no information about the author or any new posts after 2013. It looks like the original design was intended for balsa wood constructions. But I believe it would be relatively easy to convert to card stock construction. I collected the 40 JPGs and put them into two PDFs. One is PARTS and the other is ASSEMBLY. Enjoy.

Thank you MOD, very nice to make this ship available. This is certainly doable in card and paper. But for anyone who would like to give it a try, I would suggest to take a ship that is not only based on the maker's fantasy. I think it is much more rewarding to build something that really existed and therefore, if you allow me, I would suggest this post:

Could I just say that the link to the build report by "abhovi" consitutes a goldmine of information and model building expertise. That build report ought to be recognized and promoted widely. It contains all you need on how to scratchbuild a ship model in paper from plan views. It is absolutely outstanding, and the photography is beautiful.

And, yes, "abhovi" really pulls it off. At the end there is a beautifully finished ship model, fully rigged with sails and all. In between, you get all you could wish for of hands-on building tricks.

Go read, people! This is the link:

I couldn't agree more. It fills in a lot of the gaps in my understanding. You probably get the same feeling I do sometimes between photos ... 'and then some magic happens'. The 'magic' is discipline and skill
