Hobby Store Displays

Hi All,

I spent the morning wandering through the internet and wound up viewing a massive collection of vintage, beautifully assembled plastic models. And while the subject of plastic models is met with suspicion around here, I did find a segment in the video that will have some appeal to the paper modeler. Part of the collection includes classic hobby store display models that were sold to the stores in an effort to increase sales. These display models are of interest to us as the dioramas on which the plastic models sit are made of paper.

These colorful cardboard displays are quite valuable today, as they are delicate and deteriorate quickly with rough handling. The video segment shows dozens of these displays, and they are in remarkable condition, as are all of the plastic models seen in this significant collection.

The video was created by Philip Ceparano and was released in September, 2021. It can be found here:

Below, I have included some screen shots of some of the displays.

Oh shoot, I forgot to include the times in which the displays are shown. View the video starting at 1:06:40 through 1:17:13.
