They have come out well and look very representative.

Very neat! They would also look great in redoubts for coastal defense.

I am no expert in the different looks of cannons throughout the ages but of course you can use them also for land settings if you like the look!

I am having a lot of fun building them because the advanced look still is fairly easy and fast to build. Cannot wait for the carriages to be stocked with the gun barrels!!!

Thanks Dave!

I have upgrade the carriages with the wedge and went on to create the gun barrels.

These are the "raw" barrels without the detail rings.

For each barrel I added these rings and painted in the shadows with an art pen.

I also cut up a couple of toothpicks and colored them black with a marker. The four on the bottom are completed.

And here are all eight completed. I also cut up leftover metal texture parts and covered the axle to simulate the missing fittings.

Here is one last shot with some paper minis (by the talented Paperforge).

Eight cannons will be a good start for the first ship models I want to make. In the end I will need more once I get to larger ships.

Of course they also make sense with defensive structures on land. I have to do a little research how a port "fort" would have looked like in this setting... and then maybe do them too

Happy building,
Chris

Good job on those things.
