Viking Longship model released

Hi guys,

I have finally finished and release my next model: The Viking Longship!

It's length is a little over 50+cm or a little under 2ft from bow to stern when printed and built at 100% for 28mm minis.

Many customization options allow for different looks and unique looking ships when you are going for a full fleet

If you are interested, you can get the PDF-kit here at my shop.

Hope you enjoy the pics!
Chris

A couple more pics I took The last one shows a detachable build, ready to be stored in a box. Great when your display shelf capacity is limited!

Neat idea.
Nice looking surface textures on that model.

Chris's textures are always top-notch, and fit has never been an issue on anything of his I have built

Looks like a well-researched and well-engineered model.

Well done, Chris!

Thanks guys for the kind words!

The texturing was esp fun as I wanted to hide the part seams as the ships length was larger than a single page length. I made a huge page and unfolded one full side of the hull and then painted that. Then I layout out the single parts that would fit on a page over that and cut the texture hoping it would form a coherent appearance once assembled. Thankfully it worked!

Research was very interesting. Basically I found that there is no "one" Longship but different evolutions through time. So I made some creative choices to come up with "my" version that would both look Viking and also be useable for gaming. The hull shape is inspired by the Gokstad ship but adapted to my own needs.
