The Apollo Historical Series

“It's been a long way, but we're here.” -- Alan Shepard

I am proud to announce that the next installment of the Apollo Historical Series will be available imminently at The Lower Hudson Valley Paper Model E-Gift Shop (http://jleslie48.com/) -- the long awaited collection of Saturn V models will now be available!

Included in the collection are 1/480th scale models of ALL the Saturn V’s ever launched and their accompanying Mobile Launchers & LUTs. Also included are Skylab 1 and SA-500F, the famous Facilities Checkout Vehicle.

To round out the collection, Alfonso Moreno of AXM Paper Space Scale Models (http://www.axmpaperspacescalemodels.com/) has come aboard and has made possible the inclusion of his fabulous Crawler/Transporter model, shrunken down to matching 1/480th scale!

Included with each model is a fully illustrated instruction manual, and a fact sheet on each mission.

I thank you for your patience, and hope you enjoy the models.

Mike

Jon Leslie confirmed to me this morning he has the files and will try to get them posted ASAP. I believe he hopes to have them up today.

This is great news! My 1:480 lineup has been on hiatus for a while (actually, I started an unrelated build that's also on hold), but now I'm looking forward to adding a shiny new Saturn V to the collection.

I checked them all out this morning. Fine work, Mike! Really neat stuff. There are certainly going to be some dioramas by me with these new models.

One small remark about the 500F-vehicle: I saw there were five F1 engines to go with this version but this Saturn only had only one real F1 engine in the middle mount. The rest were mass simulators and were simple weight rings on a frame that was attached to the engine mounts. This might be of help to those of us who want to put the tiniest amount of realism into these little beauties.
I added a picture of how these mass simulators looked.
