I'm really impressed. Great to see paper modelling being shown off to the public. Nice models.

My model display made it into the local paper.
3, 2, 1 ... LIFTOFF! - aberdeennews.com There is a small typo. The scale should say 1/144 and 1/48. |

It's good to demonstrate the paper models in public place, especially, the museum. Families take hours for viewing vintage collection in the museum then kids may have idea to get some objects from the museum. If there are some cardmodels services on sale or free for the activity. It's really work because in a museum I once participated, it proved of the effective of this activity, shown by the returning visit of the member.
However, due to poor management of the museum, today, the activity already out of the schedule and the trainer left the museum due to misunderstanding and wrong attitude toward the skill of trainer. They considered that everyone can make this type of model but finally, they have to reconsider it after it is too late. The greed overcome the good but the good will finally prevail.

Really great, all that attention for your paper models!
As a space buff, I have to nitpick a bit here: I discovered some factual errors in the museum's text. I mean, as a museum, you have to give the right information to your visitors, right? It says: "John Glenn was orbiting the Earth for the first time ever.." -but I am sure Gagarin had that honour. A little further they speak of Soyuz as achieving "continuous human presence in space that lasted just eight days short of 10 years from September 5, 1989 to August 28, 1999". That can't refer to Soyuz. It might refer to Mir. But Soyuz is just a vessel that has a limited lifespan of about six months. And they kind of suggest that they used a Saturn 1b to fly people to the moon. |
