Hey, now that's pretty realistic. What did you use for the mesh structure?
It indeed looks awesome!

The mesh on the elevator shafts is standard window screen. The mesh on the floors is a heavier window screen called "pet" screen. The floor screen will need to be painted dull silver to better match the original floor.

The hard part is building the stairways. Even with the precut and slotted parts (a friend has a LASER cutter) it's difficult to align all the individual steps. I've made a jig that will, hopefully, help with this.

As with my other thread, real life has reared it's ugly head and taken me away from the fun stuff. I'll resume work on this project as soon as things let up a bit.

Since I can't do a lot of building right now, I thought I'd share some photos of some related projects. Everything is in 1:70 scale (like the LUT) except the LEM which is 1:12 scale.

The LEM is mostly 1/8" plywood but the others are made mostly with cardboard tubes - that's kinda like paper. The Saturn's are from kits but the rest are scratch built.

Oh, and all of them are designed to fly, even the LEM... Of course I'll never have the guts to actually fly the LEM.

1/8 PLYWOOD?....the LEM? whoa, whats the scale? And launchable, THAT I would like to see, the flight trajectory would be interesting. What about safe return, does it seperate, have a chute?
