Truss Embellishments

I have completed many of the parts for the main truss assembly. I am now adding details to each part. It is a slow process and you will not see much of it from where it will be displayed. If you do get an opportunity to view it closely, then it will be very busy and visually stimulating.

For the gold accents, I purchased some gold wrapping paper from Hobby Lobby. I also purchased some gold foil boxes that I used to highlight some of the raised detail. Wiring is a mix of 30 AWG electrical wire and and .46mm craft wire. I also used some metallic thread for added interest.

S1 and P1 Radiators

Completed the S1 and P1 radiators. I used a 1/2" PVC fitting cut to fit into the mounting truss for the radiators. The plan is to use a section of 1/2" Plex pipe to attach the radiators to the truss. On the truss, I used a full 1/2" PVC fitting glued inside the 13 and 14 truss frames. This worked extremely well.

S0 Truss sub components

I completed the internal components for the S0 truss. Wire will be added to replicate electrical and ammonia lines before I close up the truss assembly.

Truss S0

Not sure what this component is named, but added wire and hoses. Will add ammonia lines following final assembly.

Parts

It is difficult to tell, but I am making good progress. I have completed many of the smaller parts needed to build the P3, P1, S0, S1, and S3 truss assembly.

Truss S0 and P1

I had laminated the from rail for the P3, P1, S0, S1 and S3 truss modules to form a single piece. I taped the front rail down and have added the internal brace assemblies for the P3 and S0 truss modules.

I also laminated the top and bottom of the modules similar to the front rail. They are in the jig and will remain clamped until ready to be glued to the front rail assembly.

I am impressed with the quality of this kit and the amount of detail Alfonso put into it.
